It’s said that laughter is the best medicine and I think that, in many cases, it is. Laughter is amazing – not only is it an effective remedy for stress and pain, it’s relaxing, it’s uplifting and it’s actually good for the heart. It’s also extremely contagious. Thus, it’s easily shared and it brings people together. Laughter is a universal language.
It’s so amazing that it serves as a key element to a unique school of yoga – Hasyayoga (or, laughter yoga), which uses both self-triggered laughter and contagious laughter combined with traditional yogic breathing.
Because I like laughing, and because I’ll try almost anything once, I’ve been curious about Hasyayoga for awhile now, but haven’t gotten a chance (due to location and time constraints) to actually give it a try.
